DRESS CODE ACCORDING TO CLASS
Correct dance attire must always be always worn in class, following the TEDS dress code detailed below. If your dance attire from last season’s recital still fits you, there is no need to repurchase; it’s fine to wear it in our new season.
Ballet:
Hair secured in a clean bun
Black Tank or Cap Sleeve Leotard and Caramel dance tights
Ballet Slippers (color - Light Suntan e.g. Capezio Canvas Hanami #2037)
OPTIONAL - black fitted warm up layer or dance wrap sweater
For the following classes:
9:00 Saturday Baby Ballerina
9:15 Saturday Pre-Ballet (& 9:00 Pre-Tap)
9:30 Saturday Pre-Ballet
10:15 Saturday Ballet (& 10:00 Tap)
Pink Dress Leotard/Pink Tights/Pink Ballet Shoes
OPTIONAL - ballet wrap sweater if desired
HipHop:
Hair secured in a clean bun or ponytail
Black dance shorts or pants
Black fitted top, TEDS gear recommended!
SNEAKERS: Your choice of sneaker/athletic shoe, white or non-skid soles.
*We ask that the sneakers you wear to class are reserved for indoor/dance activities.
Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro, Conditioning:
Hair secured in a clean bun
Black Tank or Cap Sleeve Leotard and Caramel dance tights
OPTIONAL - black fitted warm up layer or dance wrap sweater
Appropriate shoes for style:
Jazz - Caramel Jazz Shoes
Tap -Caramel Mary Janes, Pumps, or Black Oxfords, depending upon your class. Ask staff at Capezio what your class is assigned to wear.
Modern/Contemporary - barefoot or half-soles
Lyrical - half-soles, jazz shoes
Acro -barefoot
What are Conversion Tights, and do I need them?
Conversion tights are regular full footed tights with a hole in the sole that allows the dancer to roll the tights up over their ankles and go barefoot. These are recommended for dancers who will be changing from covered dance shoes to bare feet, half-soles, etc. (e.g. modern, lyrical, acro). If your dancer uses covered shoes only, regular tights are fine. If your dancer is enrolled in Acro only, tights are not necessary at all. S/he may take class in bare legs/feet.
Masculine Hip-Hop/Tap:
Black form-fitting pants or shorts
Solid white or solid black t-shirt
Appropriate shoes for style of dance

(logo sweatpants, sweatshirts, etc.) is available for purchase directly through our TEDS website. Sample sizes are available at the studio
WHERE CAN I PURCHASE MY DANCEWEAR?
All info and supplies, except for TEDS Gear, are available at Capezio, 330 Washington St. Wellesley. Tell them you dance at Total Eclipse Dance Studio (“TEDS”) and their wonderful staff will get you everything you need.
